elopement portraits at the beekman hotel
the small moments between lyra + tom made this afternoon perfect before they left to go to their elopement. i arrived as lyra was finishing her makeup and as tom was laying out their outfits. they were in their beekman slippers until they changed into their wedding attire. lyra helped tom with his hair, we pinned her dress to make it more comfortable and then proceeded to stroll around the beekman and the surrounding downtown nyc streets.
the one hour of taking elopement portraits was so refreshing and beautiful. writing this almost a year later, i still remember the excitement they had but this calm aura that filled the air. the one hour of walking around forced an air of relaxation, enchantment euphoria, and reflective bliss. it allowed for a moment in which to pause in the moment and admire the day.
that time provided a bubble of having to be present, before the hustle and bustle starts and the day quickly ends as fast as it came.
lyra + tom were a vision of classic hollywood with a little modern spice. they became one with the jaw-dropping architecture. they joined the art on the wall.
